Alex focuses on the design development and project management of SLA’s place-sensitive projects. He has expertise in listening, site analysis and research, public engagement, public art and exhibition making, and centering artists perspectives.
Alex received a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and Design Studies from Iowa State University, graduating cum laude. With over a decade of experience within arts and cultural institutions, Alex brings nuanced sensitivity in leading community engaged projects, organizing cultural initiatives, working with artists, and building trust with diverse collaborators and stakeholders.
He is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA) and is a leader in the Historic Preservation Design Professional Practice Network (PPN). Alex also participates in Chicago’s American Institute of Architects (AIA) chapter and is a member of Chicago’s only inclusive rugby team.
Alex resides in Chicago, Illinois.
